Charting the development of photography, Bonhams hold regular specialist auctions of cameras, pre-photographic and photographic objects. Based in Knowle, the department is seen as one of the longest established and most respected camera auction venues with consignments from worldwide and an international audience.
Auctions typically include daguerreotype images, magic lanterns and slides, optical illusions such as zoetropes, drawing aids, early literature, early cine equipment, stereoscopic views and viewers, cameras and related material from the 18th to 21st centuries.
