New Music Room Auction held at New Knightsbridge Location
The Music Department has just relocated to a newly created office at Knightsbridge with a purpose built practise room, for clients who wish to come and try instruments prior to the public view. Our Fine Musical Instrument auctions will continue to be held at our Bond Street saleroom, with our next fine sale on the 7th October 2009 (For entries please consign before 24th August 2009).
The Music Room Auction contains over 500 lots ranging from early music items such as English Guitars and Scottish Pitchpipes to modern Italian Violins and Vintage Guitars. Highlights include, but are not limited to, A Les Paul Custom 1959 Guitar ( Lot 145), A Harp by Renault & Chatelain, circa 1780 (Lot 75), A Four string Double Bass Guitar by Philip Bone, 1909 ( Lot 117) and a large selection of Mandolins, Wind, Brass, and Fretted instruments. In the stringed instrument section we have Violins and Violas by Betts, Duke and Pyne and Modern Italian Violins by Guastalla and Soffritti. There is an interesting Cello ascribed to Di Zorzi alongside a good selection of Cellos and Basses. In the Bow section there is a large number of Bows by W.E Hill & Sons.
Also for the Music Connoisseur we are offering for sale a private collection of signed autographs which include Fonteyn, Horowitz, Callas, and Nureyez ( Lots1-10) At the end of the sale we are delighted to offer a private collection of Violins, Bows to be sold without reserve ( lots 482-511)
As always we are happy to help with queries and condition reports. If you wish to come and try an instrument before the public view then please contact me to make an appointment.
