Steve McQueen Automobiles Added To Bonhams Auction At The Petersen Museum
http://www.bonhams.com/petersen
The Classic California sale to include McQueen truck, car and motorbike
Items previously owned by legendary Hollywood actor Steve McQueen have been consigned to Bonhams' annual Classic California auction at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles next month.
This is not the first time items from the McQueen family have been entrusted to Bonhams and once again this leading auction house has been selected to represent possession previously owned by the King of Cool.
Steve McQueen's personal Chevy pick-up truck and Indian motorcycle are being added to the roster as well as the special edition Mustang owned by son Chad McQueen.
1949 Chevrolet 3100
Presented by McQueen's widow, Barbara Minty McQueen, and never before offered for sale, this original unrestored pick-up has been left untouched and in the same state as when last driven by the silver screen idol in 1980.
1940 Indian Chief
This iconic American motorcycle was used by Steve as his personal "Hollywood bike" and was originally sold as part of the McQueen estate in Las Vegas in 1984.
2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt Edition
Number 1 in the series and dubbed "McQueen 1", this special edition Mustang – built in commemoration of the world's greatest chase movie, Bullitt – was presented by Ford to Steve's professional racecar driver son Chad. It is in factory original and unmodified condition and has covered only 2012 miles since new.
Bonhams' auction at the Petersen Auto Museum on Wilshire Boulevard in L.A. will take place on Saturday, November 14th. Buyers interested in participating in this renowned sale, either remotely or in person, may register to bid by contacting usacars@bonhams.com.

NOTES FOR EDITORS
Bonhams, founded in 1793, is one of the world's oldest and largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques. The present company was formed by the merger in November 2001 of Bonhams & Brooks and Phillips Son and Neale UK. In August 2002, the company acquired Butterfields, the principal firm of auctioneers on the West Coast of America and in August 2003, Goodmans, a leading Australian fine art and antiques auctioneer with salerooms in Sydney, joined the Bonhams Group of Companies. Today, Bonhams offers more sales than any of its rivals, through two major salerooms in London: New Bond Street, and Knightsbridge, and a further seven throughout the UK. Sales are also held in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Boston in the USA; and Switzerland, France, Monaco, Australia, Hong Kong and Dubai. Bonhams has a worldwide network of offices and regional representatives in 25 countries offering sales advice and valuation services in 57 specialist areas.
