14 albumen photographs of temples and ruins of ancient Egypt, various sizes, approximately 8-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches, including the Smaller Temple at Phila, Hall of Columns at Karnak, Temple of Hathor, Temple of Dendaur, Osiris Pillars and Great Fallen Colossus at the Memnonium of Thebes, and others.

Francis Frith was born in Chesterfield, England, and opened a photo studio in Liverpool in 1850. He sold his grocery business in 1855 to finance his trips to the Middle East with cameras in tow, taking his now famous photographs of ancient sites in Egypt and the Holy Lands.

Payment Notices
