The brass-mounted tapering case with glazed rectangular hood over the flared trunk with rectangular glazed panel revealing the compensated pendulum, the base fitted with applied brass corner mounts.

The signed 7.5 inch silvered Roman dial with subsidiary seconds, state of wind and inset signature plaques to the centre. Below this is mounted the calendar dial with day and night indication over a rotating map of the Northern hemisphere, over two further dials, one for sunrise/sunset times with height of the sun, the other with ball moon with concentric outer age of moon and tidal dials, all set within a plain brass mask.

The single chain fusee movement with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, each dial with a separate set of plates mounted on a single, larger plate. The steel and aluminium gridiron pendulum with cylindrical bob and temperature sector. 186cm (6ft 1in)
