Howell, James and Co, London
The rectangular case with projecting corners below a gothic tracery gallery, the top, sides and dial mask fitted with malachite panels, mounted in the foliate engraved gilt brass frame, the rear door engraved with roses and foliage, raised on four lion paw feet, the 1.5 inch matt gilt Roman dial engraved with fine strapwork and foliage to the centre, read via blued steel moon hands, the single gut fusee movement with maintaining power and mono-metallic balance to the lever escapement; together with the original fitted leather case, with gilt Howell James and Co stamp to the underside. 10.5cm (4.25in)
