A rare 19th century French miniature brass caryatid style carriage timepiece with enamel chapter ring
Numbered 5794
The handle cast as a pair of mythical beasts over four caryatid figures, the sides, top and base further cast with masks and scrolls, the enamel Arabic chapter ring within a matching mask, the single barrel movement with compensated bimetallic balance, together with a leather covered velvet-lined travelling case 9cms (3.5ins) high.
