The shallow inverted bell top surmounted by a shaped handle over good applied mouldings, and twin arched glazed side apertures on a plinth base and block feet, the 5 inch one-piece silvered dial set with a rise-and-fall subsidiary dial in the arch over an engraved Roman and Arabic chapter ring encircling the mock pendulum aperture and good blued steel hands, the single gut fusee movement united by five knopped pillars, with verge escapement with rise-and-fall regulation, the backplate signed across the centre among a series of symmetrical foliate scrolls within a single line border, the pendulum with large lenticular bob secured via a hinged-block pendulum holdfast 33cms (13ins) high.
