surmounted by a tall urn finial on a cupola set with four panels of foliate lattice work, flanked by four conforming urn finials set on protruding corner pieces supported on elaborate foliate scrolls terminating in twin-scroll supports, each section interspersed by an ormolu band, the arched side panels cast with a central urn issuing flowers amid scrollwork

the 4.25 inch arched dial with three white enamel dials, the subsidiaries in the arch for 'Musick/Not Musick' (sic) and 'Air Turk & Rus/ Marche/ Air Valaque and Air Turk', the signed time dial with Turkish numerals and matching pierced gilt hands, all set within a silvered engine turned mask decorated with blue, green, red and orange enamel flowerheads and foliage

the triple gut fusee movement with substantial plates measuring 5inches by 6.5inches united by six knopped pillars, the backplate with engraved border framing the central medallion decorated with a twin handled urn on a pedestal, the verge escapement on a knife edge, rack striking the hours on a single bell and playing a tune each hour on a run of twelve bells and hammers, the speed of the tune adjustable via the twin fly blades mounted on the backplate 42cms (16.5ins) high
