1975 Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova Super 1600L Sports Saloon
Chassis no. AR20526 0008876
Engine no. AR00526 SN208

Introduced towards the end of 1962, the 105-Series Giulia was a paragon of aerodynamic efficiency, its boxy appearance notwithstanding, and like all Alfa Romeos possessed a distinctly sporting nature, the 104bhp produced by its classic twin-cam 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine making the Giulia TI version a genuine 100mph car. Under the skin the Giulia featured a five-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension, coil-sprung live rear axle and - apart from early cars - disc brakes all round. Introduced in 1965, the more powerful (112bhp) Super improved on the TI's specification, boasting twin Weber carburettors, a floor-mounted gearshift and a host of more minor changes. In 1974, the Super was revised, gaining various chassis improvements and a restyled front grille, re-emerging as the 'Nuova Super'.

This matching numbers Nuova Super has had only one previous owner and between 2010 and 2012 was completely restored, including an engine and gearbox overhaul and a bare-metal repaint. Finished in yellow with black interior, the Alfa has covered only 67,108 kilometres from new, and only circa 1,500 since restoration, and is described as generally 'like new', with no deviations from original specification, benefiting from a recent engine service and tune. Said to drive extremely well, the car is offered with its old-style first-owner Fahrzeugbrief, a CD-ROM of restoration photographs, German 'Historic' registration papers and TüV to September 2016.
