the case with (later) caddy top over Doric columns and a long door with three large shaped marquetry panels of birds and foliage within wheatear borders centred by an oval lenticle on a matching base and later plinth, the 11" square brass dial with winged cherubs head spandrels interspersed with engraved foliage enclosing the Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial, ringed winding squares and decorated date aperture (date ring lacking), the movement with five knopped and finned pillars, anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on a bell (bell detached), 226cm high
