A pair of early 18th century needlework pictures
Probably French, one depicting a seated lady playing a lyre, surrounded by several seated onlookers and animals, including a lion, stag and fox, within a hilly landscape dotted with oak trees, 46 x 49cm (inc. frame 54 x 57cm); the second depicting a couple seated in a rural landscape, a putti with doves in a chariot to the left and other figures and dogs, 48.5 x 52.5cm (inc. frame 57 x 61cm); both worked in silk and wool tent stitch, within tortoiseshell frames.
