The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, M.B.E., 2nd type, Military Division; 1939-1945 Star; France and Germany Star; Defence Medal; War Medal; General Service Medal 1918-62, one bar, Near East (Major.H.B.C.Watkins. M.B.E. R.Tks.); Campaign Service Medal 1962, one bar Radfan (Lt-Col. H.B.C.Watkins. M.B.E. RTR.). Court mounted as worn with corresponding miniatures. Good very fine or better. (Lot)

    This officer has been employed as Military Assistant to the Adjutant-General for the last two and a half years during which period the A.G. appointment changed hands. Major Watkins is outstanding in this appointment which carries great responsibility for a junior officer. His loyalty and devotion to duty have been exceptional and he has always worked in circumstances involving long hours. His contribution has been exceptionally meritorious.

    The lot comes with an Owl trophy presented to him by the Staff College, Camberley July 1962. Together with dog tags, minor memorabilia including powder compact, commemorative medals, cigarette box etc.

    Lieutenant Harry Bryan Claude Watkins was born on the 29th October 1921. Served in the ranks for 227 days (Emergency Commission.) Second Lieutenant 31.5.1941 (War Subst Lt. 1.10.1942. (act Captain 28.12.1942 to 27.3.1943; temp Capt 28.3.1943 to 3.10.1944 and 13.11.1944 to 23.2.1945. R.A.C. Lt 29.4.1944. (17.1.1945). R.Tks Lt 29.4.1944 (18.9.1946). Capt 29.10.1948. (temp Maj 15.3.1951 to 13.4.1955. Maj 29.10.1955. Brigadier 30.6.1967. retd Staff late RTR 8.7.1974.
