Shaped-circular outline with gadroon borders, each engraved with a coat of arms, diameter 24.5cm, weight 116oz. (6)

Footnotes

  • The shield is charged with the arms of BOYLE impaling POYNTZ, ensigned by an earl's coronet and supported by two rampant lions, above a ribband inscribed with the motto of the Earls of Cork.

    Engraved retrospectively for General Edmund BOYLE (1767-1856) who succeeded his father in 1798 to become 9th Earl of Cork. In October 1795 he married Isabella POYNTZ of Midgham, Berks who died in November 1843.
