Occupied France, Liberation of Paris and the Free French: A varied collection, including a forged ration card, vintage poster, vintage postcards, pins, medals, etc. 1940-1945
The collection comprising:
1. An unused "carte individuelle d'alimentation" or ration card.
2. A small flyer printed by Editions "Defense de la France" titled "conseils pour remplir un certificate de travail" [advice on how to fill out a work certificate].
3. A book on the week leading up to the liberation of Paris La Semaine Heroique 19-25 Aout 1944 (Paris: 1944).
4. 6 related vintage postcards recording various aspects of the liberation of Paris and a vintage Free French poster "Aux armes Citoyens! Formez vos bataillons..." with a quote from de Gaulle with his printed signature (visible area: 14 ½ x 20 5/8 in), framed with a large Free French enameled badge.
5. A large group of Free French memorabilia, including a red French overseas cap with FF pin attached (worn during the parade down the Champs Elysees following the liberation of Paris); three associated medals; seven various pins; a ring with Cross of Lorraine symbol; a small Free French ribbon; one small paper pennant (for use when watching a parade); one small cloth tricolor armband, with Free French stamp; a 1943 Associated Press "radiophoto" of Gen de Gaulle in 1943.
