[8], 391 pp. With large folding map in front pocket as well as an additional map, not called for; 29 maps and plates comprising 3 color lithographed maps, 6 plain lithographed plates and 20 tinted lithographed plates (4 of which are colored). Contemporary red morocco gilt by American Baptist Mission Press, Rangoon, a.e.g. Large folding map linen backed, some light toning and stray spots, binding somewhat rubbed.

FIRST EDITION of Yule's account of a mission to Upper Burma undertaken after the end of the second Anglo-Burmese War. After his return to Britain, Yule served as President of the Hakluyt Society. This copy with an extra folding map of the region apparently from another work. Abbey Travel 408.
