In this work, Norma Giles has painted the landscape of her ancestors and its identification with her family. The circular shapes in the painting, illustrate rock holes at which hunting and gathering of bush food took place. The artist freely used a pallet of creams and pinks with some black when depicting these aspects of the landscape.
Norma Giles has exhibited in Australia as part of a founding group of a relatively new western desert art movement Kayili at Patjarr.
