Peter Goodijie was from Wangkayunga, a remote community in West Australia near "Well 42" on the Canning Stock Route. His stories and paintings record the early and tragic contact by his family with stock men traveling this route. The painting depicts a series of bold circular patterns of the main waterholes and location of his Great Sandy Desert homelands. These details are mostly known by the Wangkayunga people.
Peter Goodijie was an active participant in a number of solo and group exhibitions in Australia and collected both in Australia and internationally.
