the dial signed Lepaute, the case attributed to Robert Osmond, circa 1770
The arched case surmounted by an urn and draped with a ribbon tied oak leaf garland above a fluted base on shaped plinth enhanced with applied running scrolls and foliage on bun feet, hinged glazed bezel enclosing white enamel dial with arabic minutes and roman chapters, pierced scroll hands, circular movement with thread suspended pendulum to anchor escapement, striking the hour and half hour on bell by means of a crossed out countwheel.

    References to the King have been removed from the clock. The signature "Horloger du Roy" on the dial has been lightly erased and the hour hand clipped to remove the fleur de lis.
