A mid 19th century and later pearl and diamond choker
The three graduating plaques of foliate design, each centrally-set with a cushion or pear-shaped diamond in closed-back setting, the reverse of each decorated with a glazed hairwork compartment, within a blue enamel border inscribed in golden lettering 'HONble F.H. ONGLEY', 'HONble A.H. Ongley' and 'HONble C. Fremantle' to an openwork surround set with cushion, French and pear-shaped diamonds, suspended from four rows of 2.0mm-3.0m pearls and terminating in a cushion-shaped diamond clasp, in closed-back settings, diamonds approx. 11.10cts total, composite, length 39.0cm, cased by R&S. Garrard & Co.
