    The American ship Fanchon, was built in 1847, and seen here arriving off Liverpool. She is reducing sail against the backdrop of the Liverpool waterfront, and behind her can be seen various landmarks of the former Liverpool skyline including the tower of St. John's, the Town Hall dome, the spire of St. Nicholas's and the octagonal tower of St. Peter's.
