1980 Yamaha XS650 Bobber
A recent build with low miles, this custom Yamaha uses a stock frame that has been turned into a rigid but retains its original VIN number. It was not ridiculously stretched or goosenecked, so the bike remains a decent around-town ride. Disc brakes at both ends and Honda forks with a good amount of travel increase the XS bobber's roadability even further. The bike rolls on 1970s Honda Com-Star wheels, while the asymmetrical sissybar with running light is a nice touch. Treatment of the Harley aftermarket gas tank and rear fender really stand out both have been left in the bare metal, swirl-polished, then clearcoated, with opaque black accent stripes that let the polishing pattern shine through. Sprinkled about the chassis are various items from TC Bros, the Ohio shop that specializes in parts for XS650s. The kick-start 650cc twin has been left stock internally, but benefits from an HEI electronic ignition, 2-into-1 intake manifold with Mikuni carb hung off to the side, and shotgun-style up-pipes wrapped in heat tape.
