1972 Kawasaki 500cc H1 Two-Stroke Triple
Frame no. KAF45742
When it first appeared in 1969, the 500cc Kawasaki H1 sent shock waves round the motorcycle world...and through the local authorities as well... for here was the world's fastest accelerating production motorcycle ever made. So what if the gearbox was a little strange and handling required extra skill, it had THE motor...60hp...10 more ponies that the GP Manx Norton racers of the day...and right out of the box capable of 120mph. But it was getting there that shattered records...and nerves... for it laid waste to anything else on two or even four wheels. A factory H1 aka the "Green Meanie" took second place in the 1970 500cc World Championship. This restored H1 shows only 9500 miles and is in excellent condition.
