1970 Tyran Wassell 125 Sachs Scrambles
W.E Wassell Limited of Birmingham, England, a manufacturer and distributor of motorcycle components for British, then Japanese bikes, was founded by Ted Wassell in 1946 and soon found a world market. There wasn't an off-road motorcycle made in the UK which didn't use Wassell parts. Aluminun gas tanks were a specialty. In 1972 in announced its trials and scrambles frame kits for the popular BSA Bantam and then its own 125cc Sachs powered machine engineered by ex-Dalesman's Jim Lee and Peter Edmonson. Maybe as many as 3,000 were made over several versions. The Tyran was a version marketed by Mitsubishi alongside the Penton models. Mitsubishi was no stranger to the motorcycle business, domestic sales of their buit-in-Japan Silver Pigeon scooter had reached nearly half a million by 1963.

This extremely rare example is nothing short of "too perfect". It has been inside a private collection until now.
