1979 Triumph Bonneville
Frame no. T140E NA13463
Wayne Pierce didn't retain many Triumphs from his days carrying the British brand alongside Harleys in his DeKalb dealership, but the ones in his collection certainly qualify as keepers. This largely stock T140 is a good example of the final phase of Bonneville production, meant to blunt the onslaught of Japanese Big Four with an enlarged-to-750cc, five-speed version of the company's famous parallel-twin, now sporting its gearshift lever on the left side thanks to new federal mandates. Chassis-wise, the bike employed an oil-carrying frame, and had disc brakes at each end. This example is equipped with an optional factory rear luggage rack.
