1959 Harley-Davidson FLH
Engine no. 59FLH3173
By the late '50s, we're beginning to see "dressers," the blueprint for the motorcycles we now know as luxury-tourers. The Pierce collection's 1959 Duo-Glide is preserved just as it was ridden and accessorized by its owner. The chromed fender bumpers were stock that year, as was the new paint scheme and "arrow" tank badges, but Harley's growing accessories catalog was consulted for the Royalite "bubble" saddlebags, the whitewall tires, the floating Buddy Seat with chromed grabrail, and the dual exhausts, the latter further embellished with trumpet tips on the mufflers.
