1948 Harley-Davidson 125 Hummer
Engine no. 48S5382
It's been called the "paperboy's delight," and what red-blooded American kid wouldn't want to toss the morning paper from the saddle of a flashy new Harley 125 S? Quite literally a "spoil of war," the 125cc two-stroke was originally a German DKW design appropriated by both BSA and Harley-Davidson following WWII. This first-year model from the Pierce collection is equipped with the correct girder fork, its actions controlled by a heavy-duty rubber band, and it has the hard-to-find stock sheetmetal headlight shroud.
