1934 Harley-Davidson VLD
Engine no. 34VLD1455
A flathead design in production from 1930-36, the trustworthy and reliable VLs capably carried Harley-Davidson through the tough economic times of the Great Depression. Partly to counteract the bleak mood of the country and partly to answer rival Indian's wider color palette, Harley had dropped its standard olive green paint and was offering an array of two-tone paint schemes, as evidenced here by the Pierce VLD's striking orange-and-black livery with stylized gas tank logo. An older restoration, this VLD is equipped with a longer Buddy Seat dual saddle.
