A virtuoso carving made from untreated, natural color, Andamooka matrix opal, having a spectacular play-of-color with vivid iridescent greens particularly on the backs of the book-matched wings which are rendered in very fine realistic detail, each wing measuring approximately 6 inches in length, total gross weight: 4100 carats, with 18K yellow gold feet. Raised on a removable Queensland boulder opal base having very fine ribbon of opal veining in the ironstone matrix. Overall height of sculpture: 13 in. Height of boulder opal base: 7 1/4 in
