This stunning oval cabochon star sapphire is notable not only for its large and impressive size but also its rich blue body color which is characteristic for the locality. The six-rayed star is central and strong. Such large, natural sapphires are rare in today's market and this one of of a wearable size to be enjoyed by the serious gemstone collector.
Weighing approximately 29.51 carats and measuring 18.09 x 16.56 x 8.87 mm

  • This lot is accompanied by a gemological report obtained from AGL the American Gem Laboratory, no CS 58173, dated 25 November 2013, stating that the 29.51 carats star sapphire originates from Burma and and exhibits no gemological evidence of heat or clarity enhancement. Non-heated sapphires are scarce. Sapphires are commonly heated to modify their color and appearance.
