- Ce superbe cabinet montre l'influence de Emile Jacques Ruhlmann 'Duval' cabinet (reference no. 2300NR dans les Archives Ruhlmann, Musée des Années 30, Boulogne-Billancourt), exposé au salon des Artistes décorateurs en 1926. Douze cabinets similaires ont été commandés entre 1926 et 1932, montrant l'attrait et le succès de ce modèle.
Dans notre exemple, les similitudes apparaissent dans la forme ovoide du pietement en ivoire, les entrées de serrure en écusson, les charnières apparentes et la qualité d'exécution en général des incrustations d'ivoire et de marroquin.
This striking cabinet shows direct influence from Emile Jacques Ruhlmann's 'Duval' cabinet (reference no. 2300NR in the Ruhlmann Archives, Musée des Années 30, Boulogne-Billancourt) , exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1926. In total, twelve cabinets of this design were ordered between 1926 and 1932, showing the imminent success and appeal of this design.
In this example, the similarities can be seen in the egg-shaped ivory feet, circular key escutcheon, exposed hinges, and overall fine quality of production with crisp ivory and shagreen inlay throughout.
