STUDIO OF FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT.
Large aerial view of planned Runyon Canyon hotel, pencil and green, blue, and brown pastel on paper, 1770 x 895 mm, c.1947, with red Frank Lloyd Wright monogram stamped at lower center, labeled in holograph and with faint holograph caption along bottom (several letters obscured) "HUNTINGTON HARTFORD / FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT ARCHITECT / LLOYD WRIGHT ASSOCIATE," sheet laid down to board, toned and spotted, board slightly bowed.

Frank Lloyd Wright's design for a cottage hotel in lower Runyon Canyon—commissioned by A&P Grocery heir Huntington Hartford—never came to fruition, as the project ran up against vehement opposition from local residents. (See Williams, The Story of Hollywood, p 284.) The present plan is not in the hand of Frank Lloyd Wright, but from his studio.
