This specimen inspires all the emotions a viewer can experience when first beholding gold: awe and wonder at a world of crystallized structures. Fully three-dimensional and viewable from all sides, this specimen has both leaf-gold and crystallized portions; the leaf gold areas with mirror-bright luster. This is a very rare specimen from a small find in 1993 which was found at the modern area of the Shore Mine previously known in the late 1800s Gold Rush era as the Jamestown deposits. Such specimens formed the basis for the Wells Fargo Gold Collection at that time. Only one small pocket of this style of gold has been found in modern time and this was from a small area that was simply missed by the early miners here. This find was sold in 1993 and pieces such as this seldom turn up on the market now. This is a very rare cluster of "flames" of gold. Measures 3 ½ x 2 x 1 1/2in
