Important California Gold Nugget-"The Black Canyon Beauty"
Black Canyon Mine, Foresthill, California
Found in the heart of Placer County at an elevation of approximately 5000 feet approximately 28 years ago, this excellent specimen was consigned by the miner and his wife. Nuggets from placer sources, by their nature are not typically very large, but this one is not only large for the locality but also highly aesthetic. Medium to dark gold in color, with minute traces of quartz in the crevices, the surface of the nugget has been left entirely natural with its beautiful ancient patina. This is a fine nugget for the serious collector.
Weighing approximately 19.21 ozt (597.6 grams). Measuring 5 x 2 x ½ in
