Stunning Double-sided Black Crystal Opal
Lightning Ridge, New South Wales, Australia
This oval cabochon represents some of the finest quality opal which has emerged from the locality of Lightning Ridge. Originally a thick seam of opal, now fashioned as a plump, double-sided cabochon, the body color of the opal is black while the play-of-color with all of its broad flash predominates in reds, followed by orange, yellow and blue. This is a classic stone of very wearable size suitable either for mounting as a ring or a double-sided pendant.
Weighing approximately 12.76 carats and measuring 19.5 x 13.0 x 7.5mm
