Important Suite of Fossil Clam Shell Crystal Opal and Pink Diamond Jewel--"Memoirs of the Ocean"
Designed by Karin Tremonti, fabricated by Zarian
This extraordinarily unique and imaginative suite of jewelry comprises a magnificent necklace, ring and earpendants. Incorporating exceptional gem-quality, fossil clam shell crystal opals, created by nature over 40 million years ago, in Coober Pedy, Australia, the only known locality in which opalized marine life can be found. Exceedingly rare to find such a large collection of opalized shells of this size, so well matched for color and vibrancy and beautifully graduating in size--the collection of opals themselves took several years to amass. Hand-crafted in 18K white and rose gold, with scrolling motifs reminiscent of waves of the sea, the elaborate creation is encrusted with over 19 carats of Australian pink diamonds from the Argyle Mine which the designer intended to represent the ocean sands, while the white diamonds represent the glistening ocean foam. This is an exceptional and unique offering for the knowledgeable opal collector and those desiring a completely unique item of jewelry. Length 21 inches, including two extra links provided to lengthen the necklace if necessary (photographed with the extra links). (5)
Total combined weight of opals approximately: 318.32 carats.
