Large necklaces of fine white crystal opal beads are no longer emerging from Australia. The present example, weighing approximately 400 carats, consisting of 91 beads, is definitely a "collection piece"--notable for the exacting symmetry of its spherical beads which graduate from a substantial 13.0 mm in the center to 7.5 mm at the ends. It would have taken years to gather such a collection of beads to form a unified single, striking necklace. Completed by an 18K yellow gold clasp, length 36in
