From a new find in 2007 and a limited deposit, this avocado-hued common opal variety originates from Ambatondrazaka, near the largest lake in the east of Madagascar. Exhibiting a green color, like the interior of an avocado fruit, it probably owes its color to the presence of iron silicates, diameter 3in.
