Large Pink Andean Opal Carving
Andes Mountains, Peru
Designed by Luis Alberto Quispe
A room-sized carving of generous proportions, it is almost impossible to find such a large specimen of Andean opal now in the present market. This find of opal first reached the United States market in the 1990s and since then the supply has virtually been depleted. The present specimen has been carved to depict a variety of sea creatures. Accented with 14K rimmed rubies for the eyes of the fish. Raised on a black granite slab. Measures 15 1/2 x 12 x 6in
