A late 18th century mahogany 8 day painted dial longcase clock

Having a 13" white painted break arch dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, seconds dial and date aperture, the dial signed 'Geo Monks, Prescott', painted spandrels and rose decoration within the arch; the two train weight driven movement rack striking on a bell; the hood with swan neck pediment above an inset figured frieze and fluted columns; the case with flat pilasters and a shaped top long door with figured veneers, canted sides and raised panel on the base, the whole supported on bracket feet. Sold with pendulum and two weights. 236cm (93 inches) high
