Footnotes

  • Limited edition commemorative clocks were popular in the 1970s and Garrards, The Crown Jewellers, were perhaps the most successful retailers. They always limited production runs to small numbers, picked their models very carefully and only used the best suppliers, in this instance, Elliotts of London. This clock was purchased new by the vendors family in 1979 from Garrards, at a cost of £875. It is sold with the framed certificate, other ephemera and the original T-shaped winding key.
