Salvers awarded to Ian Porterfield plus Sunderland 1973 F.A. cup team signatures

3 salvers, 2 (diam. approx. 25cm) presented by Bells Whisky -Manager of the season 1980-81 Rotherham United, Manager of the Season 1981-82 Sheffield United F.C., together with a larger salver (diam. approx. 30cm) engraved' The Football League Division three champions 1980-81 Rotherham United F.C. Manager I.Porterfield'. The lot includes a limited edition number 10 of 100 produced first day cover dated 5th May 1973, hand signed neatly to the reverse by the Sunderland team, coaches Arthur Cox and Billy Elliot, referee Ken Burns and chairman Keith Collings.

Footnotes

Ian Porterfield (1946 2007) worked at both club and international level for almost 30 years. He has the distinction of being the very first manager to be sacked in the F.A. Premier League, when he was fired by Chelsea.
