Enamelled and gilt with a continuous scene representing the shigei (four main accomplishments of the Chinese scholar gentleman) enclosed within shaped panels including two scholars competing at go and others playing musical instruments such as the sho, flute and beating a taiko drum, unsigned. 37.1cm (14 5/8in) high.
