By Seiosai (or Shoosai), early 19th century
The rat clambering over the large shellfish, its head lowered and its tail trailing beneath, forming a compact composition in slightly-worn and well-patinated wood, signed Seiosai/Shoosai.
4.2cm (1 5/8in) wide.
