Centred by the face of a Green Man, his beard and hair of oak leaves, crowned with a garland of fruit, between a pair of foliate scrolls centred by a five-petalled flower, in a later mahogany case with glazed front, 31cm wide, 14cm deep, 6cm high (12" wide, 5.5" deep, 2" high)

    This piece was purchased as part of a group lot of fragments, and was possibly once part of the contents of Devonshire House, which were re-located to Chatsworth when the former was demolished in 1924.
