Two 19th century straw-work jewellery or work boxes
The first decorated to the hinged lid with a townscape on the banks of a river and with a bridge, and to the underside with a large palace or house, fitted with various lidded compartments, inlaid with musical trophies and reserves of flowers, 25.5cm wide x 18cm deep x 10cm high, the smaller second example decorated to the hinged lid with a large bouquet of flowers issuing from a campana-type urn, one of the compartments to the interior decorated with a man holding a spade, other compartments decorated with a dog, and a pair of red roses, 27cm wide x 18.5cm deep x 8cm high, (2)
