Worked in wool, and depicting a palace and its grounds, a young maiden in a striped dress and a gentleman and a dog, all against a field stitched with a rose, a shell, exotic birds and a peacock, and all within a border of blue, red and white flowers and green leaves, in a rosewood frame and under glass, bearing a paper label to reverse with partial inked inscription 'She died about 1850 aged 25...Jane Sutcliffe, cousin of Dan Sutcliffe The Stile, 8.6.51...'; 67.5cm wide x 60cm high (including frame)
