A Victorian copper 'Brunswick Star' jelly mould, by Benham & Froud
Topped by the garter star, and in the form of a multi-pointed star, with plain rim, marked with the orb and cross mark for Benham & Froud, apparently unnumbered, marked also with a cross with three rounded terminals, and also stamped with the words 'REGISTERED SEPTEMBER.15.1864', 12cm diameter x 15cm high


  • A 'Brunswick Star' mould by the same makers, and also marked 'REGISTERED SEPTEMBER 15 1864', is illustrated P. Hornsby, Collecting Antique Copper & Brass (1989), p. 137, pl. 285.

    This mould was reputedly designed to commemorate the marriage of Edward Prince of Wales to Princess Alexandria of Denmark in 1863.
