Having a 12 1/4" brass break arch dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, engraved centre with seconds dial and date aperture, engraved 'John Smith, Chester', applied scrolling floral pierced brass spandrels, hand painted Eagle on roundel in arch, flanked by sea-serpent brackets; the four knopped pillar movement rack striking on a bell; the hood having broken swan neck pediment with later door knob finials, above fluted pillars with wooden capitals, the shaped top door with crossbanded edge flanked by conforming fluted canted pillars, on a plain base raised on small bracket feet, sold with pendulum, two weights and a door key,
