The overhanging cornice set above a pierced soundfret on turned Doric columns flanking the burr-veneered door frame, the long trunk door with central lenticle and D-moulded edge, the base with crossbanded panel on a plinth, the 11 inch square brass dial with engraved wheatear border enclosing the signed silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with half-quarter marks and fleur de lis half hour marks, the matted centre with subisidiary seconds ring, ringed winding squares and decorated chamfered date aperture, the movement with five knopped pillars, anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on a bell 2.12 (6ft 11.5ins) high.
